July Prayer Requests

Praises

• The training Justin received during his summer conference was very beneficial and motivating for him as he continues to raise funds for the ministry. 
• We have grown our prayer and support team this summer!
• We were able to go on one last family camping trip before the school rush begins!
• We were able to get a more family-friendly car that we would never have been able to afford without generous family and God's goodness!

Prayer Requests

• As a staff team, we have been praying into three words for UVU: POWER, PRAYER, and MOMENTUM. Would you join us in praying for the LORD to increase these three things in our ministry this year?
• Childcare for Autumn. As Samantha increases the work she is doing on campus, we are in need of a safe, reliable angel to watch Autumn, preferably as a way of supporting and volunteering for the ministry. Please pray for God's provision in this.
• Guidance for fall plans. We are eagerly planning our outreach for the fall, our small group Bible studies, and our fall conference. Please pray God would guide us and give us wisdom as we plan out events and materials.
• Prepare Hearts. Please pray God would prepare the hearts of students and faculty to respond to the Gospel. Pray for good soil and soft hearts. 
• Prepare Christians. Please pray that God would prepare and send Christian students our way in the fall! Pray that students would be eager to share the Gospel with their peers and pray for the campus. The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few!
• Regional Staff Conference. July 26-31st we will be attending our regional staff conference. Please pray this would be an opportunity for both of us to be filled with the Holy Spirit, renewed, and encouraged for work in the fall. Please also pray that Autumn will do well as she stays with family and conference childcare workers and that she would sleep well in the hotel. 

June Prayer Requests

• Praise God for the restoration we were able to get while spending time with family during our vacation!
• Pray for God to provide for our 2017-2018 budget and for April's budget as our fiscal year comes to an end on June 30th. 
• Pray for wisdom as we plan for the fall and brainstorm how to reach such a large number of students attending UVU in the fall.
• Pray for God to send more Christian students and faculty to UVU to help spread His Gospel.
• Pray for our students to continue to grow in love for God, God's Word, and God's people over the summer months. 
• Pray for Justin as he helps train up new staff at InterVarsity's annual New Staff Orientation in Wisconsin this month. He will also be attending a class on how to coach other staff in raising up support for their ministries. Pray this class would be useful, insightful, and impactful!
• Praise God for all He has done in Southern Utah! Thank Him that there are now on-campus missional ministries at UVU, SUU, DSU, USUE, and at Snow College.
• Praise God that the worship night on campus was well attended (around 200 people)!

April Prayer Requests & Praises

Praises:

• April & Justin were able to step in and lead 11 students who they had never met through the first half of Mark at camp AND 2 students committed their lives to Christ during that time. In addition, many students also began to let Jesus heal some of the brokenness in their lives.
• This past week we have had several well-attended events with UVU students. We see God creating a stronger sense of community among the young students in the ways that they are caring for one another. 
• We have met several new students through our table outreaches on campus. 
• We feel that God is breathing new life and joy into our ministry after a season of dryness and challenges.

Prayers:

• We will be having another campus-wide worship night on April 23rd. Please pray that students are drawn to this event, including non-Christian students. We will be offering prayer for students as well and would love to pray for many students. Pray that the logistics go smoothly and that the Holy Spirit fills the room!
• We will be hosting a senior seminar on April 22nd for four of our graduating seniors. This seminar will include teaching on calling vs. career, finding community after college, financial stewardship, and using your gifts and skills in the church and work environment. Please pray for this time and for these four seniors as they graduate and seek their God-given calling for this next phase of their lives.
• We will continue to host several table outreaches on Tuesdays in April. Please pray that we are able to meet new Christian students and meet non-Christians who we can engage in spiritual conversations. 
• Pray that God would continue to grow our group according to His will and for His glory! We would love to see God raise up students to become leaders next semester.

March Prayer Requests and Praises

Praises:

• We raised $1200 from our Chipotle fundraiser to go toward conference scholarships!
• We met 3 Christian students and several LDS students interested in hosting a Bible study for their friends!
• God has given us a vision for how we should pray for the campus in the next year

Prayer Requests:

• Camp is coming up March 17th. Justin and April will be teaching Mark to first year students. Please pray for them as they lead. 
• Pray for UVU students attending camp to experience God - particularly non-Christian students who might attend
• Pray for the students who were interested in hosting a Bible study that they would follow through and that their friends would attend
• Pray for God to encourage our hearts in a difficult season of ministry. Pray that we would continue to seek out where He is at work and that we would be obedient to Him. 

February Prayers and Praises

Praises:

• We have met several Christian faculty/staff at UVU this past month!
• T. (female Navajo student) has continued to attend studies and think about who she believes Jesus is to her
• Many students had spiritual conversations on campus through our display on money and the Gospel! We had students from both Chai Alpha (another Christian club on campus) and InterVarsity participate!
• We have been blessed to have a very ethnically diverse group of students this semester.

Prayers:

• Pray for T. (student mentioned above) to recognize that she can be fully Native and fully follow Jesus. Pray that she would choose to believe that Jesus is God and that He came to save her.
• Pray for the non-Christian students who participate in our community to experience God.
• Pray for our large group Bible study to grow. We have around 15 students attending regularly (6-10 coming each week) but we would love to see 20 students coming on a weekly basis.
• Pray for April (our staff partner) to meet international students and pray that the international students she befriends would come to studies and events.
• Pray for the dance small group as they study Captivating by Staci Elderedge. Pray that God would continue to build His Kingdom in the dance department at UVU.
• Pray for Justin and Samantha to be joyful and hopeful in a dry season of ministry. It has been easy some days to feel discouraged that we don't have as many students as in the past. But we long to continue to be faithful to our calling and obedient to the work God has called us to do on campus. 
• Pray for our core group of students as they gather on Monday nights for teaching and prayer. Pray that the Spirit would motivate them to come and that they would recognize the importance of praying for their campus and participating in community. Pray that these students would own the campus as their mission field.
• Join us in praying for MOMENTUM. We want our time with students to be fun and exciting. We hope to host catalytic events (by God's power) that encourage students to invite their friends to come and see what is happening.
