October Prayers and Praises

Praises:

• 3 students decided to follow Jesus at Fall Conference, including the RM Chris!
• 15 students recommitted their lives to Christ at Fall Conference!
• One of our Alumni (Matt Harder) got married this past weekend!
• 7 students have been attending the Bible Study at USU Eastern!

Prayers:

• Pray for every students who made a decision at Fall Conference to continue to grow in their relationship with God.
• Pray that Christian students would attend the USU Eastern Bible study.  So far, only 2 of the 7 students attending are actually Christians! This is awesome, but also a lot of work for the 2 Christian students (Emily and Shawn). 
• Continue to pray that God would raise up more leaders at UVU. 
• Continue to pray for Rilla and her new small group. So far, 4 people have attended regularly but they would love to see more come!
• Please pray for rest and energy for Justin and Samantha - we are getting exhausted with so much travel!
• During October-November we will be trying to raise the last 8% of our budget for the year. Please pray for God's provision and for our boldness as we invite others into our ministry. 
• Several of our students have decided to attend URBANA (InterVarsity's student mission's conference - the largest missions conference in the US).  YAY! Please help us by praying for these students as they attempt to raise the money to get to the conference by December 20th (roughly $1000 per student for all costs). 
• Specifically pray for Shanan, Torri, Shawn, and Emily.
• We also have several students (Zach, Alyssa, Sonora) who are still on the fence about going.  You can pray for them as well! 

September Prayers and Praises

Praises:

• Two new UVU students who are Christians, Celeste and Sierra, have become really involved in the group and they are potential future leaders!
• Chris agreed to meet one on one with a leader to study the Bible more deeply and he signed up for fall conference!
• Many new people have continued to show up to events and Bible studies.  Each week we continue to have brand new people come who we have never met!
• 7 students attended USUE's Game Night!

Prayers:

• Pray that students who went to USUE's game night would come to their Bible Study. Also, please pray that the leaders, Emily and Shawn, do not get discouraged but continue to try to reach their campus with the Gospel. The study meets on Tuesday nights. 
• Pray that Dixie student leaders would be able to come to fall conference.  There are several barriers that seem to be keeping them from coming. Please pray that these would be removed.
• Pray that all of the non-Christian students meeting one-on-one with our student leaders would grow in curiosity and in understanding of who Jesus is and what He did for us. 
• UVU has a goal of bringing 30 people to fall conference.  You can be praying with us for this number.  But even more so, we have several people in particular that we would love to see come: Raquel, Adam, Frances, Hosea, Andrew, Russell, Brad, and Matt.
• Fall Conference is Oct. 2-4th. Please pray for our speaker Tim to be filled with the Spirit. Pray that students would encounter God and experience Him, some of them for the first time.  Pray that students would decide to follow Jesus!
• One of our UVU students, Rilla, is starting a new small group. Please pray for her as she recruits students! Her first small group is Thursday, Sept. 24th. 
• Justin and Samantha are currently considering getting a roommate. Please pray for discernment in this process for them. 

August Praises and Prayers

Praises

• The leadership retreat went really well! God met with each of the 14 leaders that attended and they did a great job reaching new students afterwards!
• 22 new students attended an event at UVU this week!
• Dixie State received over 80 contact cards and UVU received 75 contact cards!
• 1 UVU non-Christian student has already agreed to a one-on-one Bible Study!
• Two of our college student neighbors (Josh and Jason) came to our game night last week!
• We received many food donations for the retreat and BBQ!

Prayer Requests

• Please pray for the health of our leaders as they attempt to follow up persistently with so many new contacts.  Please specifically pray for Alyssa, our Bible Study preparation leader, who has been having twitching, irritated eyes all week.
• Please pray for two students, Erik and Chris, who have told us they are leaving the LDS church and want to explore Christianity.
• Please pray for Shelby, who has agreed to a one on one Bible study with our leader Vianney.
• Please pray for the Christians we have met on campus! We need more leaders and we would love to see these students step up and help with the harvest.
• Please pray for Samantha, Shawn, and Emily as they host an interest table at USU Eastern Tuesday and Wednesday (Sept. 1 & 2).

July Prayers and Praises

Praises

• The Mexico GP scouting trip was truly blessed by God.  He provided a free classroom space for us to host over 80 people! We have many great housing options!  We made great new COMPA friends!
• We closed on our house July 2nd.  There were no hidden fees and our first payment isn't until September! We truly feel like this is a huge blessing from God!
• ONS was great!  Each of our small groups went well, we both enjoyed training, and we each felt like we learned a lot.

Prayer Requests

• Please pray that God would provide us many opportunities to use and share our new home for His glory! We have several spare rooms and lots of event space that we would love to see used for hospitality and outreach.
• Please pray that we are able to get some much needed rest this month after all of our traveling.
• Continue to pray for our student leaders who are leading weekly Bible studies on campus on the life of David.  (Alyssa, Dillon, Zach, Heather, Rilla, Vianney, and Magdalen).
• Pray for students' schedules to clear up so that they can attend our pre-fall retreat in August.
• Pray for fall outreach at all of our southern Utah campuses (UVU, DSU, USUE, and SUU).  We want to see more students engaged in Bible studies than ever before!  
• Please pray that more LDS students would be involved in Bible Studies or GIGs this fall.  We desperately want to see LDS students choose to follow Jesus.  
• Continue to pray that we would reach 100% of our funding and that we would continue, even beyond that, to build our prayer team. 

June Prayers and Praises!

Praises:

• SummerVarsity at UVU is well underway and attended by 5-22 students every week!
• We have made some wonderful new partners in both prayer and finances this month! Praise the LORD for these amazing people who He has called to pray and to give to InterVarsity at UVU and DSU.
• Our home buying process has been so blessed by the LORD!  From the inspection and appraisal to the loan itself, we have seen God's blessing!

Prayers:

• Mexico Trip June 8th-13th in Queretaro.   Please pray for safe travel and that we would be gracious guests, willing listeners, and have servant hearts.  Also pray that we would figure out some of the logistics for next year, such as where students will sleep.  
• Home closing July 2nd.  Please pray that this process would continue to go smoothly and that there wouldn't be any hidden costs/fees that we aren't expecting.  Also pray that we would use this home for God's glory and to move His Kingdom forward!
• Continue to pray for our student leaders who are leading the summer study.  Also pray for the students attending the study - that God would teach them and transform them.
• June 20th - July 1st we will be staffing InterVarsity's Orientation for New Staff.  This means we will each have a small group of new staff who we will be coaching, mentoring, and facilitating through new staff training.  Pray for God to prepare all of our hearts for this conference and for the conference itself.
• Continue to pray for our Ministry Partner Development (the process of recruiting new prayer and financial partners).  We have raised close to $500/month this past month and we would like to raise at least $1500/month more before fall semester begins.   Most of this new money raised will go toward travel and funding of the ministry at Dixie State and USUE in Price, as well as moving us toward a full-time salary.

Praises

• The year ended well at Dixie!  Over 12 students regularly attended the spring Bible study and everyone is excited to start the next year!
• The year ended with a full house at UVU!  Around 35-40 students came to our house to celebrate the end of a great year for InterVarsity at UVU!
• We graduated two awesome seniors who have the potential to become world changers (Torri and Matt)!

Requests

• School is out!  Would you please pray that God would continue to transform students this summer?  Would you also pray specifically for our student leaders to be refreshed in the LORD this summer and that God would give them a vision for His Kingdom on campus next year?
• Summer Bible study for UVU begins on May 18th.  Please pray for the students leading and for the students attending. It will meet every Monday night at 7pm.  
• We are considering buying the home we have been renting for the past year.  Please pray for discernment and for God's provision during this process.  We would love to have a home to use for ministry to both students and our community, whether or not it is this one or another.
• We will be talking to a few churches this summer about supporting our ministry at UVU and DSU.  Please pray that we would present our ministry clearly and that God would put it on some of their hearts to partner with us!
• In addition, we will be working hard to raise $3400/month in support this summer so we can keep driving down to DSU, keep working at UVU, and help encourage other campuses across Southern Utah.  Would you please pray for God's provision?

April Prayer Requests and Praises!

Praises

• God brought (and funded) 18 UVU students to camp and used the experience to transform lives
• Several students experienced areas of healing at camp
• God sustained us through camp and gave us safe travel
• The Dixie State students continue to work hard to bring Jesus to their campus even though they don't have the daily staff support that many campuses have

Prayer Requests

• Please pray for our upcoming trip to Dixie State on April 26th. Pray that God would help us use our short time there wisely and that we would be able to encourage the students and give them the training that they need.
• Pray for our leadership selection process at UVU.  The next two weeks we will be finalizing what their role(s) will be in the fall.  
• Pray for us to finish the school year well and make a healthy transition in to summer.  Both DSU and UVU are in their last few weeks of school.  
• Pray for us as we make summer plans for ministry partner development.  We would love to expand our circle of partners both in prayer and finances.
• Continue to pray for our students as they finish the one on one Bible studies they are doing with their friends.  One student in particular, M., is extremely close to deciding to follow Jesus.
• Pray for us to follow up well with the students who attended camp and for our students to let camp impact their regular lives (to follow through with their commitments to Jesus!)

March Prayer Requests and Praises

Praises!

• Thank God that so many students who don't know Jesus have said "Yes" to studying the Bible with a friend!
• Thank God that the Dixie State student leaders have committed to meeting weekly and have a core group of 6 leaders!
• Thank God that one of our UVU students made a first time decision to follow Jesus this month!
• Thank God that one of our DSU students made a first time decision to follow Jesus this month!
• Thank God for the favor He has shown to the LGBT outreach Bible study and for all of the students who have attended!
• Thank God for leading Justin and I, as well as our UVU students, through a hard season of discipline this month, and for His grace to move forward.

Prayer Requests

• Pray for Torri, Rilla, Alyssa, Dillon, Vianney, Magdalene, Matt, and Jessica as they lead one (and for some of them 2) of their non-Christian friends in studying the Bible.
• Pray for the leaders at DSU (Kainen, Sarah, Alexis, Skye, Lizzie, and Robert) as they commit to their weekly Sunday Bible study and to meeting every Wednesday as a core team.
• Pray for the two students who decided to follow Jesus, that they will continue to grow and bear fruit in Christ!
• We have several different missions teams coming to UVU this month.  They will be praying on campus and inviting students to our events. One team will specifically be reaching out to international students.  Please pray for the work of these groups to be blessed.  Also, we would love to see a Bible study for international students grow out of this work - so please pray for that also.
• Pray for our upcoming spring break trip (in April) where we will study the book of Mark for one week! We would love for you to join us in praying that at least 30 UVU students would attend this trip!

January Prayer Requests

please pray for:

• January 23rd Vision Casting/ Training dinner with our Dixie State students. Specifically that missional students would come and that Kainen, our president, would invite boldly.
• January 21-22 Club Rush at UVU. We will be talking to students about why the world is so messed up and what God's solution is to our broken world. Please pray students would be bold in sharing Jesus with their peers; pray we would meet more missional students; pray students who don't know Jesus would sign up for a one on one Bible study.
• Gigs (one on one seeker Bible Studies) - 9 of our student leaders have committed to leading a Gig this semester. Pray the Holy Spirit would show up in these meetings!
• Praise God! We have almost erased our deficit. However, with all of our trips to Dixie, we cannot remain in the black without more monthly support. Please pray we would have more partners in this ministry! We would specifically love to see more churches partner with us!
• We need more missional students to join InterVarsity and start new things on campus so that we can reach more students! Please pray that God would introduce us to these students!
