February Prayer Requests
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS! They are heard and answered -- so keep praying!
- Please pray in faith with us that God would bring 20 students who are eager to study His Word at Mark Camp during UVU's spring break. We have 11 students committed to coming so we are half way there!
- Please pray for the GIGs (Group Investigating God) that we are starting this semester. Samantha is leading two GIGs (basically a 5 week Bible study with a non-Christian) and is trying to start up one other GIG with students that she has met.
- Pray for the non-Christians who are regularly interacting with InterVarsity. Several are former LDS students, a couple are currently LDS, and several are atheist or agnostic. Pray that we would be salt and light to these students, that we would love them well, and continue to show them who Jesus is and why He is worth following!
- Pray for our fight team! January was hard and our core group of students is tired. Pray that they would continue to pursue their non-Christian friends on campus and that God would provide the strength and rest they need until spring break.
- Continue to pray for our weekly Bible studies. We just finished studying the Sermon on the Mount and the application was challenging to many of our students. Pray that students would continue to wrestle with and let Scripture impact their lives.
- February 22nd we are hosting "Ask an Evangelical" night on campus. Pray that curious, seeking students would come and ask questions about what it means to be an evangelical Christian and to follow Jesus. Pray for wisdom for Samantha, Justin, Brad (our supervisor), and Nate (one of the pastors at our church) as we answer the questions these students have about what we believe and how it is different from Mormonism.
- Praises: Praise God that we have so many students committed to the spring break camp! Praise God that we have many non-Christians interacting regularly with our group this semester! Praise God that prayer and Scripture study are being done on campus!
- For Justin and Samantha: We are worn out. This past month has been our busiest month of ministry since being on staff. We LOVE our job, but we also need to learn to rest better. Pray that God would provide us with the strength and energy that we need, but also that we would be wise about how we spend our time. And please continue to pray that we would find close friends. Thank you!
